Another lost treasure
The number of times I set my sub woofer to pick up his Jurassic Park sounds I’ll never know…
Michael Crichton – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
John Michael Crichton, M.D. pronounced /?kra?t?n/ [1], (October 23, 1942 – November 4, 2008[2][3]) was an American author, film producer, film director, medical doctor, and television producer best known for his science fiction and techno-thriller novels, films, and television programs. His books have sold over 150 million copies worldwide. His works were usually based on the action genre and heavily feature technology. Many of his future history novels have medical or scientific underpinnings, reflecting his medical training and science background. He was the author of The Andromeda Strain, Congo, Disclosure, Rising Sun, Timeline, State of Fear, Prey, and Next. He was also the creator of the TV series ER, but is probably most famous for being the author of Jurassic Park, and its sequel The Lost World, both adapted into high grossing films and leading to the very successful franchise. The final book he published before his death was Next, and he also had another project set for some time in 2009.Crichton died on November 4, 2008 at the age of 66 from cancer.
The insight he put into his books was outstanding and inspirational. His works will be missed, I’m sure.

Amy here did ok in my humble opinion during the comp. She had some issues about being away from her family and did a bit of whining, well to be honest… she whined and cried and tried to suck up more pity than anyone could stand, probably should have gone home after the second or third week… but then thats just me. Half the time I wanted to yell at the tv “There isn’t any crying on Food Network Star!! But then again whom am I to complain… lol
Jag here was also ok, but I had some points that I did and didn’t like about him. Good points are; he isn’t the same ol’thing and he seems to have the ability (if he calmed down) to present some ideas of a different (at least for me) style of cooking. He was on of the finalist but had to retract do to some “discrepancies” he had made in his application when he joined the contest. Part of the things I disliked about him was how he kept pushing the nickname he wanted to use “jag”. It was as if to make a mark as in Pirates of the Caribbean and the pirate Jack Sparrow… “But you have heard of me…”
Rory is the other finalist for the comp. She is also ok… she pushes the program she wants to have on the Food Network, which is good, but I really didn’t see any real flair with her cooking. Maybe she’ll push that if she does win. For me, I don’t really want to see a gourmet next door but something I can make myself, without spending 20 dollars for materials.
