Keys to the bank

I pay my taxes and life goes on, until this year… what a surprise to see that even after using the single exemption and having extra removed “just in case” I have to pay still more in taxes this year. What happened? Where is this extra money going to come from? How am I going to come up with extra funds? The IRS, the real men in black, has a website calculator that will tell you your estimated taxes for next year, and ya know what it’s telling me? On top of claiming zero exemptions… the max… I need to save an additional 100 or so dollars a month, because at the end of the year, that is what dear ol’ Uncle Sam is going to ask me for.
Senate passes $170 billion stimulus package - CNN.com
The Senate accord — reached after days of bickering and passed 81-16 — keeps the House-passed rebate check amounts of $300 to $600 for people who have an income between $3,000 and $75,000, plus $300 per child.Couples earning up to $150,000 would get $1,200.
Sad isn’t it? Just to try and make ends meet, I have to give my own money back that the government is going to send me to help bolster the economy. Poetic justice? Why even send me a check? Just save the tree and not waste the ink.
McConnell said the Senate bill also fixed a “glitch” in the House bill that would have made it possible for illegal immigrants to receive checks.
Senate Democrats agreed to scale back their economic stimulus package in order to gain Republican support for the measure.
The measure stalled Wednesday over GOP concerns the bill was too big and loaded with special-interest provisions, said Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Montana.
A glitch? Giving illegal aliens more of our tax dollars? Why not? They courrently are getting everything else why not just open the banks doors and hand them the bags of cash… the government sure isn’t giving me something I didn’t first send (or should I say get taken from me). to them first.
