Well the local park board put out some geocaches so we decided to try and locate a couple of them. Of course the first one (called “Lost”) was lost.
But that was okay… we kept looking around and located a few of the other caches that had been placed.
But that wasn’t all that was found. […]

So first you find a heart then you do some counting, then a bit on a walk… start looking in cubby holes and advoid the black widow (yeah… the spider)… And it all comes down to finding the little paper so you can sign your name and say… “I did it…”

Took a short trip to the east of Springfield to the small town of Ava, Missouri. There were a few new caches placed and we wanted to see if we could locate a couple of them.
This little one was down the road and hidden in the sneaky hiddy hole that many parking lot caches […]

Still over in Ava, we located our first travel bug that was out and about in the wild… This bug was the Cruzin’ 66 bug
And we just had to show it around in Springfield before sending it on it’s way… Choice here is sitting with the bug at the motel where Elvis had been […]

Down on the road trip to Ava, Choice located one of the nicer caches (in my humble opinion). It was a great demo of the karst topography of the Ozarks. This overhang is just below the roadway and is a little roadside park.

While I know many teachers teach about geography using geocaching as a part of their lesson plan… one of our local teachers has their cache placed out by the school they are at so it’s accessible to everyone.
This cache was filled with all sorts of goodies; from key chains and marbles to bubble blowing […]

A train I cut a while back…
I cut 2 of these out at one time and had one of them take a first place in the local fair. A friend snatched it up off my wall before dust even got to set on it… lol

So where do you hide something when there is NO PLACE for it to be hidden? Well picture this… your on one of those foot bridges that cross over a highway or busy street, you know the type, one of those walking bridges that have a steel mesh cage type thing surrounding you when your […]

This was the first time we took the laptop with us and boy, did it come in handy. This cache had been moved from it’s published location by a hundred feet or so… in woods.
Without the update coords. it would have been near impossible to have located the box of goodies.

Places that amaze… thats what you find while caching around. This is one of those little know locations you can find even though you’ve lived in a place for years and years.
One of the local colleges are trying to clean this up a bit. I heard that for awhile you had to bushwhack yourself […]
